Settlement Timetable Expert Group (STEG)
The Settlement Timetable Expert Group (STEG) is a technical expert Subgroup that sits under the Migration & Cutover Advisory Group (MCAG). STEG is responsible for developing and delivering work related to implementing the new Settlement Timetable (Milestone M16: Cutover to the new Settlement Timetable).
The MHHS M16 Programme milestone introduces a new Settlement Timetable that:
- Reduces the Final Reconciliation (RF) period from 14 months to seven months, and subsequently to four months
- Changes the first financial settlement run (SF) from 15 Working Days (WD) to seven WD
The Transition Design sets out an initial decision point in October 2026 to implement the RF reduction to seven months under the new Settlement Calendar from 1 April 2027, followed by a further reduction to four months from 2 July 2027 (M16). This Transition Design was baselined by industry in Q3 2023. A second decision point is scheduled for April 2027 to confirm the change of the SF run to seven WD.
The STEG Meeting Papers will be published below and the STEG Meeting Calendar will be published on the right-hand side once the meeting schedule has been confirmed.
STEG’s High-Level Role
STEG’s responsibilities are to:
- Develop and define the data and criteria required to support decision-making at the Transition Design decision points
- Monitor settlement and migration data on an ongoing basis, including related issues, to inform recommendations on implementing the new Settlement Timetable
- Make recommendations on the Settlement Timetable changes required to deliver M16, including shortening the timetable to four months and reducing the first financial settlement run from 15 WD to seven WD
STEG is a closed technical expert Subgroup. Membership is by invitation only and is limited to settlement timetable subject matter experts and Programme meeting secretariat representatives.
