Migration Journey
Migration Journey with the MCC
MHHS Migration starts in October 2025 and runs until May 2027. To keep things structured, migration will be delivered in nine sprints, each with a Planning, Execution and Retrospective Phase.
The Migration Control Centre (MCC) will be with you every step of the way to make the process as seamless as possible - from first engagement through to your final sprint, as illustrated in the diagram below.

Getting Ready: Early Engagement
Before you’re “service activated,” the MCC will reach out several months ahead of your first migration sprint. This is all about preparation and setting you up for a successful migration sprint.
We’ll hold three introductory meetings to get you ready:
- An introductory meeting, a formal way to meet your account managers and discuss any questions you may have. We will also use this opportunity to introduce the MCC quiz - Ready, Steady, Migrate! This is a quick way to check your understanding of Migration and your input will help us see where you’re confident or where we can support you further.
- Closing the Gaps – A follow-up meeting to discuss your quiz results and cover any areas we think you could use support on. This is also to highlight any concerns you have and to go over any grey areas of knowledge to ensure you’re ready for migration. Here we’ll also introduce the Service Activation Proforma.
- Final Check-In – A review of your completed proforma and a final opportunity for MCC to answer any remaining questions, provide reassurance, and ensure you feel fully prepared before Migration begins.
If extra support is needed, we can scheduled ad-hoc meetings as required.
Becoming Service Active
To begin Migration, you must be Service Activated.
What is Service Activation and how do I achieve this?
You must complete the Service Activation Proforma which the MCC will email you about one month before your confirmed Perfomance Assurance Board (PAB) date.
The Proforma ensures that you have considered all necessary parties, such as Agents and Licensed Distribution System Operators (LDSOs), and accounted for their role in the migration.
Once submitted and approved by the MCC, we will provide our recommendation, taking you one step closer to Service Activation.

Supplier Readiness Assessment
Once Service Active, you can formally enter your sprint planning phase. Every planning phase includes a Readiness Assessment.
Two weeks before planning starts, you will receive the assessment to complete. This allows us to map which Supplier Market Participant Identifiers (MPIDs) are migrating with which Agent MPIDs. Agents then receive a clear view of the Suppliers they’ll be supporting, ensuring that everyone is aligned and ready for execution.
Planning Phase
During the Planning Phase there is a different expectation on your activity as a Supplier, depending on whether you’re intending to migrate in the upcoming sprint or you are not yet Service Active and, therefore, migrating in a future sprint:
- Actively migrating: You’ll need to submit daily committed plans and complete your readiness assessment, plus provide weekly plans for any future sprints you’ll take part in
- Not actively migrating: You’ll only need to provide weekly plans for your upcoming sprint(s)
Throughout planning, the MCC will be on hand to coach and provide support with any questions or concerns. During this stage, we will be particularly attentive, ensuring hands-on guidance when needed.

MCC Communications during Migration
Once Migration begins, the MCC will provide hands on support and maintain close interaction with all active participants.
- A dedicated Teams channel will be set up with your Account Manager to enable direct communication and daily check-ins
- Weekly stand-ups will be held with all actively migrating participants, covering FAQs, updates, and the chance to raise issues and schedule any individual ad-hoc meetings
- Monthly Migration Reviews will bring everyone together to share progress, spot trends, and resolve common challenges which have occurred throughout the previous month
In your first sprint, the MCC will practice hyper-vigilance, through pro-active engagement and support, addressing questions as they arise.
