Licensed Distribution System Operator (LDSO) Qualification Test Scenarios and Test Cases

The Test Scenarios and Test Cases for New Entrant LDSO Qualification Testing are available in the respective libraries below. They are separated out into the different phases of testing to support participant review. 

These Test Scenarios and Test Cases will also be used if there is a new entrant LDSO in a Qualification Wave, who needs to undertake  Qualification Testing.

Not all participants are required to complete all tests due to their arrangements for placing reliance on other testing parties, however, these are published for participants to provide comments on ahead of finalising the detailed test plan for each new entrant LDSO participant. 

The Test Data Catalogue below contains a list of all the Test Cases and Test Scenarios for Functional, Migration and Operational testing, grouped by business process. Participants should use this document to assess test scope and to help create test plans.

New Entrant LDSO Operational Test Scenarios and Test Cases 

The Operational Test Scenarios and Test Cases for LDSO Qualification Testing were issued on 9 July for your consultation and feedback. You can view these files in the library below.

The initial review window closed on 19 July 2024. Thank you to all participants who provided feedback. 

The Test Scenarios and Test Cases comments were triaged at the Qualification Working Group (QWG) on 13 August 2024, and were approved by the Balancing & Settlement Code (BSC) and Retail Energy Code (REC) Performance Assurance Boards and at the Qualification Advisory Group (QAG) on 22 August 2024.   

Not all participants are required to complete all tests due to their arrangements for placing reliance on other testing parties, however, the Test Scenarios and Test Cases are published for participants to provide comments on ahead of finalising the detailed test plan for each new entrant LDSO participant.

The Functional Test Scenarios and Test Cases for new entrant LDSO Qualification Testing are available in the library below. We have segregated the Functional Test cases into Batches 1, 2 and 3. 

Not all participants will be required to complete all tests due to their arrangements for placing reliance on other testing parties, however, these are published for participants to provide comments on ahead of finalising the detailed test plan for each new entrant LDSO participant. 

The Functional Test Scenarios and Test Cases were approved at the Qualification Advisory Group (QAG) on 18 April 2024.
