Service Activation

Service Activation is the process where following successful Qualification, participants are onboarded to Elexon’s new systems.  

Service Activation is a prerequisite to Migration, meaning that all participants will need to complete their Service Activation activities to start migrating their Meter Point Administration Numbers (MPANs) post Qualification.  

The expectation is that Service Activation will take between one to two weeks to complete for each participant. The process will be owned and managed by Elexon, with input from Qualification teams (Balancing & Settlement Code (BSC) and/or Retail Energy Code (REC)), the Data Integration Platform (DIP) Manager and participants.  

  1. Figure 1 shows key participant activities and touchpoints throughout the Service Activation journey which are highlighted in light blue in the flow diagram below
  2. Figure 2 provides more information against each step of the flow
