Settlement Analysis Scoping Working Group

The Settlement Analysis Scoping Working Group (SASWG) was mobilised in response to CR013: Determining scope of examination of settlement impacts resulting from the MHHS Programme.

The objective of this Working Group was to scope the analysis required to investigate the impacts of MHHS on Settlement processes. SASWG has now concluded its activities and the SASWG Output Report sets out the scope, approach, timescales, cost and next steps options for the Settlement analysis.

At the Programme Steering Group (PSG) meeting on 4 October 2023, PSG approved the SASWG Output Report, which you can view below:

As of January 2024, Elexon took an action at the Programme Steering Group (PSG) meeting (PSG25-01) to consider the final report and to return to a future PSG meeting with a proposal on how to take the analysis forwards.

Elexon Load Shaping Service (LSS) Visualisation Tool

Elexon is supporting MHHS Programme participants to better understand the potential impacts of moving to half-hourly settlement for non-half-hourly (NHH) domestic customers.

As part of this work, Elexon has developed a new interactive tool so the planned MHHS load shapes can be compared to existing NHH load profiles on a daily, yearly, and Load Shape Category (LSC) basis.

On Friday 28 March 2025, Elexon published a Load Shaping Service (LSS) Visualisation Tool

This is one of the tools that Elexon has developed to prepare for HH settlement and the vast increase of data that will be processed once MHHS is implemented. This is the first time that Elexon has gathered actual smart meter readings and compared them to NHH profiles.

You can view the tool, via the Elexon website, at the link below:
